The Challenge
To develop a storyboard for the Light Projections Show video, a pre-promotional event to increase awareness and excitement for the St James Quarter soft launch. The light show would take place the 17th June ahead of the first phase (soft launch) occurring from the 24th June.
The Idea
Essentially, we wanted to create excitement towards the first phase of opening. With years of construction and a lot of curious eyes focused on what was going to be revealed, a creative and enticing video was going to do just that.
Connecting the dots
The ‘St James Quarter: Light the City’ storyboard would set the scene frame by frame with creative ideas to be included in the pre-promotional video such as historical storytelling, camera angles, shots, atmosphere and the lighting up of partner buildings. This required research, fact checking, and putting my creativity to good use!
The Result
I presented the storyboard to the wider team (our team/ creative agency/ production agency) and it was approved and adapted into the planning process for the final video edit.
