(Working Title)
(Confidential)
As the nature of this work is confidential. I won’t be able to show any project visuals for the time being. However, I can provide a description of the work I’ve done with a non-related photo to help paint the picture. N.B. The photo is taken and edited by yours truly. It captures the futuristic look of the buildings nearby Covent Garden (London, England).
Creating this big idea involved, theme generating, concept building, research, more research, reiterations, tie-ins, mood board visuals, and everyone’s favourite word: budgets.
The Challenge
During my most recent role at St James Quarter, I was tasked to develop an experiential annually occurring program of events to occupy multiple event spaces within a 1.7 million sq. ft destination, at different periods throughout the year. The concept focused on discovery and enlightenment.
The Idea
The concept idea touched on a range of different themes such as arts & culture, music, gastronomy, literary & books as well as interactive digital experiences involving various tech. Every element in the programme of events are designed to take audiences on a journey to new experiences.
Connecting the dots
-Looking at arts & culture, music, gastronomy, literary & books, interactive digital industries from a holistic perspective (domestic, national, and global scale).
-Analysing various events timings.
-Analysing the city (Edinburgh) calendar of events to identify quiet periods.
-Identifying gaps and opportunities to build relationships.
-Market research, market research, and more market research…
To funnel my thoughts from imagination to digital paper, I used Mindly. I’m not endorsed by Mindly... I’m just a fan. It captures the thought process allowing the ideas to flow. It was a great method to organize my thoughts and gave it structure enabling me to visually illustrate the big idea.
The Result
